Physicochemical properties : white crystal. Soluble in hot water and hot alkaline solution, slightly soluble in cold water and hot ethanol. At 25 ℃, the solubility is about 0.6% in water, 0.1% in ethanol and 2.4% in dimethylformamide. Its sodium, potassium and ammonium salts and organic phosphorus salts are easily soluble in water. Purpose: biochemical research. Selective herbicides and temporary plant growth inhibitors. It can enter the plant through the cuticle of the leaf surface, reduce photosynthesis, osmotic pressure and evaporation, and strongly inhibit the growth of buds. It is used to prevent the germination of potatoes, onions, garlic and radish during storage, and has the effect of inhibiting crop growth and prolonging flowering. It can also be used for weeding in non cultivated land.
