Physicochemical properties (the following information is for reference only): light yellow to light brown substance. Odorless. Tasteless. Hard glue is almost insoluble in general solvents, while soft glue can be partially soluble in ethanol, chloroform and glacial acetic acid. Both of them can be dissolved in turpentine oil and linseed oil after melting.
