Physicochemical properties : dry powder, nuclear protein formed by DNA and histone. One of the nuclear proteins. It is formed by the binding of DNA and basic protein histones by ionic bonds. It exists in the nucleus and is the main component of chromatin. The weight ratio of nucleic acid and histone is about 1:. It can be dissociated into two components in salt water of more than 1 mol and dissolved. When the concentration of salt water is reduced to 0.14 mol, it will be reconstituted to form white flocculent precipitate. There is a tendency to dissolve without dissociation in salt water of lower concentration
